Introduction Text August 2008- Hello , I am a 60 year old retired nurse , Mother of 3 sons and grandmother of 6 . I have been married for 43 years and have found that I have kept gaining and gaining over the years . I started out at 375 . I am using a combination of counting both calories and weight watchers points although I have not joined weight watchers . I want to be able to move and play with my Grandchildren the way I did with my own children and enjoy active retirement years with my husband when he retires this year . August 1 -2009 Well folks it is the first day of August and this last week I just reached a milestone , I have now officially lost 100 pounds since starting Sparks People .Com . There were times it rolled off and times where I rolled in bed wandering if this day would ever come but to all those who have given me help this last year I want to say Thank You and be patient with me for I still have 150 more to lose . I am now eating and living like a new person , every couple of weeks I find new things that I am now able to do and new friends I meet along the way I know I have a lot more work to do and a lot more to look forward to so my journey into tomorrow continues .

Starting weight 375 or there abouts , now 268 as of December ,2009.My goal is to get below 200 by end of 2010. My other goal is to be able to move faster ,and have more energy so I will be able to ride bikes and play and dance without my knees or back hurting

I walk at least a mile on the treadmill every day . Try to do 2 but some days can only get 1 mile in . I also do a hand weights routine and use a stepper . I count both calories and weight watcher points to double check myself .

My name is Stella and I live in South Carolina . Have been married for 44 years and have 3 grown sons and 6 grandchildren whose ages range from 15 months to 20 years and 1 great grandchild . I am retired neonatal nurse and my hobbies are reading ,writing poetry and most importantly playing with my grandchildren,

I also love to paint and do cross stitch . I always have my camera handy and love to photograph my grandchildren and nature and old barns and buildings.
