I'm retired from teaching elementary school and teaching Writing and ESL at the college level as an adjunct instructor. I work part-time as a scheduler at a car dealership. I have 2 recue cats, almost 3 years old, Lavendar and Violet who are the sweetest. I don't have any children having never married but am a godmother to a beautiful and intelligent young lady.

My Goals:
I want to get down to 140 pounds, a comfortable weight for me. Also, I'd like this to be the last time I try losing weight, choosing instead to make these health changes permanent. So far, I'm enjoying Sparkpeople and tracking my food and exercise; it allows me to compete against myself and others. Tracking food is an eye-opener, that's for sure.
My Program:
I follow Spark People tracking of food, have made some adjustments to my current diet, including eliminating pastries, my weakness. I treat myself once a week but don't go over my caloric intake. Also, in my 40s, I lost a great deal of weight and strengthened my body on Walk Away the Pounds and free weights. I'm using that method again, but will eventually add my elliptical machine some days in the week.
