I have been fat all my life. Literally. At age 5 my mother signed me up for Weight Watchers. By 8, I was taking doctor prescribed amphetamines. During my teenage years, I hid food and binged as often as I could. I stole change from around the house and walked to 7-11 in the middle of the night to buy candy and chips. Things just progressed from there.

Now I'm working hard to reach a personal healthy weight. Actually, it's not all about a point of the scale. Like many "sparkers", I am focusing on fitness and health as much as weight loss. My pattern is to do *really* well and lose a chunk of weight, only to slip up a little, feel terrible about myself, finally slipping into horrible eating choices and depression.And gain most - if not all - of the weight loss back.

That's where I am now.

However, I've joined the Spring 'In-Between' 5% Challenge and can't wait for that 'hit' of support and self-challenge. My goal is 10 pounds in 8 weeks. I know I can do it if I stay on goal, it's very achievable at my weight. Question is ... can I get it together to reach it? Can I keep it off and keep moving forward?

I wish I could say I'm sure my journey will be a smooth one, but at 51, I know my history. Things will most likely be rocky. But the past is the past and its up to me to create the future I want. The support is waiting, the goal is in sight. I'm 80 pounds down from my highest weight and utterly intend on losing the last chunk

* Whole "real food", very low amounts of processed food

* Caffeine-free
