I've been on and off this site for nearly 10 years now! I know that this is where I'll find the tools and support to help me find success. There are some pretty amazing people here!

I've struggled with my weight my entire life; I've lost (and gained) 50 pounds numerous times. Over the course of the last 5 years, (my most recent journey) I have lost over 80 lbs, finally reaching a healthy weight for the first time in my married life. I tried numerous strategies: WW, Jenny Craig, Spark alone, walking, running, and 21 Day Fix/21 Day Fix Extreme. These last programs (21 DF & 21 DFX) are what helped me finally push through the final plateau and what helped me develop this into a lifestyle. I've learned that if something stops working, you need to look closely at why, and change it, or try something new! If what you're doing isn't working, something must change! Additionally, giving up isn't an option. Yes, we all slip, but forgiveness is important and the ability to move on is even more important. Though I've worked through a variety of programs to get here, Spark has been here the whole time, providing me with the consistency and support that has been so important throughout this journey. Now that I've reached this goal, no more yo-yoing for me! Now that I'm older, the weight doesn't come off like it did when I was in my 20s. So I am now working on making this a lifestyle. I know that this, too, will be challenging, but it's a challenge that I'm excited about facing!

My Goals:
I would still like to lose a few more pounds, but it will come when it comes. Now that I have reached the healthy weight goal set out for my by my doctor, the focus is on maintaining a healthy lifestyle!


My Program:
I am eating right, WATCHING PORTIONS, and keeping my body in motion! I like to run and I follow the 21 Day Fix and 21 Day Fix Extreme programs. (I became a Beachbody Coach for the discount on products and the support of those communities, as well.)

    Thank you so much for reading my blog about my crafty creations, and for the vote of confidence!!

    I like how you teach your first graders the importance of neat handwriting! So many school districts have done away with teaching handwriting, and just recently there was an article in the New York Times that said RESEARCH shows that there are definite brain pathways being developed during handwriting exercises that are necessary for other things. I'd print it out and hand deliver a copy of it to the LA super and principle if I was still teaching!!

    Thanks for the blog comment. I was actually surprised when I saw the number on the scale at the Dr.'s office and then quickly subtracted for the shorts, t-shirt, shoes and giant brace. I might even be a little closer to my last weight than I assumed due to estimating low on the weight of the clothes and brace. Hopefully one day I will feel motivated again and get back to where I was 4 years ago.
