Introduction Text I'm Midgie - been inactive for a few years on Sparks, but now I'm back. I'm 56 years old, and have been married 36 of them. I'm Mom to 2 grown sons, 34 & 31 years old - and ecstatic Grandma to 2 Granddaughters, ages 14 & 13 - and 3 and 12 year old Grandsons. Oh, and we dare not forget Their Majesties - Sammy, our bossy big kitten and his little sister, Katie! (Rico, my Beloved Tabby, crossed the Rainbow Bridge in 2013.) They keep me busy! As of February 18, 2013, I had lumbar surgery - which derailed my activity somewhat for a bit, but gave me the feeling back in my left leg! If stress burned calories, after the last few years I'd be Twiggy! Alas, not. Did I mention I tend to be an emotional eater? Yeah. So, one of my biggest goals for this year - and always - is actually casting my burdens on My Lord instead of just talking about it! Anyone else out there with me? Hooray for Sparks - and especially all my Sparkfriends who have hung with me through the years I've been here!! And big welcoming hugs to all the new friends I hope I'm going to make! Nothing is impossible (Luke 1:37)!

The Weight Loss has really been kicking in, between the support I get here and at TOPS. I had back surgery in 2013. This really helped my activity level, now that I no longer have a numb left leg!

I live in Kalamazoo, Michigan with my husband of 36 years. We have two sons, who are 34 & 31; and 4 beautiful grandchildren (2 girls and 2 boys) who are 14, 13, 12 and 3. I'm very blessed.... God has given me lots of reasons to want to live healthier & longer!
