Some of you know this but others do not. Weight has always been something I struggled with...I have a very over protective Mother if the wind was blowing over 15 mph or if the temperature was less than 60 degrees I was not allowed to go outside because I would "catch pneumonia "
Therefore, I spent a great deal of time watching Turner Classic Movies and eating anything that was not hidden or locked up.... no joke.
I will always remember the fat kid in 5th grade....one kid in particular use to call me "lard ass"....those words tend to stick with you.
I always loved sports and when I got into true organized sports the weight came off, but I was still a big kid. College came around and I had an opportunity to play college ball as an offensive lineman....what do linemen have to do..."they bulk up." So, I did just that.
College football is a JOB. I quickly gave that up...to pursue being a COLLEGE kid...and going from BEING all world stud from a large TEXAS HS to being #6 on the depth Chart was something my ego could not handle. Therefore, I went to College Station found the Dixie Chicken and began drinking my way to ALLSTATE ALCOHOLIC!!!!
I gained A LOT OF weight and at one point in my life weighed 298 lbs....
Long story short....I was not very happy with myself.
I decided to make a change...this is my image collage and motivational poster I talked about earlier.

When I came to Bushland I had gone from running a 15 mile to running 7-8 minute miles for up to 10 miles. It was a process and it takes hard work and determination...but if I could manage moving 292 pounds from point A to point B...anyone can.

After my shoulder surgery in the spring of '15 I stopped running.

Kristen's Biggest Loser contest and that first weigh in CAME AS A SHOCK TO MY SOUL...weighing 240 pounds and having people I love and care about read that number was embarrassing and heartbreaking for me.

This weight loss challenge is personal to me.. Although it is not about a NUMBER on the scale...I will always be that 5th GRADE LARD ASS!!!

Whatever your reason for weight loss...remember this YOU GOT THIS!!!
