Being healthy is not a short term project, but a life long commitment. It makes no difference whether you are trying to overcome leg cramps or cancer, whether you are trying to lose 5 pounds or 500, whether you are 21 or 81 - the length of the journey is the same - the rest of your life. It's a 'lifetime' thing.

You've got to learn to relax and enjoy the ride.

My Goals:
I healed myself of a handful of health issues including GERD, Intracranial Hypertension, high blood pressure, and a pre-diabetic condition by eating only real, organic, unprocessed food.

My goal is to get as healthy as I can be - and to stay that way.

I'm mastering the unicycle and I'm eventually going to be able to do a pull-up.

My Program:
Currently following Jeff Cavaliere's AthleanX

Personal Information:
In 2003 I was blind and in a wheel chair from Intracranial Hypertension (IH). My neurologist misdiagnosed the problem and I was given about 2 weeks to live.

I'm glad that neurologist was wrong!
It was quite a life lesson though.

I want to be as healthy as possible and keep it that way.

I live in Washington state with my gorgeous wife, two kids, Moose the dog, and Pretty Kitty the cat.

Other Information:
Remember:

That weight ticker isn't going to change until you do.

Keep in mind that beating yourself up does not burn calories.

From John Bingham, No Need for Speed:

"Until we exorcise the memories that keep us from succeeding, there's no point in exercising the body. It isn't the added weight on our bodies that keeps us locked in inactivity, its the added weight on our spirits."

From Sean Croxton, The Dark Side of Fat Loss:

"We don't lose fat to get healthy, we have to get healthy to lose fat."

    Hey!
How was Thanksgiving? How is it going in the new house? How's your wife's Mom doing?
Week before Thanksgiving my DH had to be in the hospital for a solid week...cardiac care unit, but it wasn't a heart attack and he was cleared of heart problems...but other things are being checked out! I stayed the entire week with him! Some of it was rough as he had some psychological issues while there!
Let me know how you're doing!
    Hugs,
    Mary

Hey! How's it going? Did you switch doctors? I hope you found one that listens to you and encourages you in a healthy life.

    Hi Michael,
Good to hear from you and know all is OK! I am glad you are getting to see your wife...how is her Mother doing? Any chance she can return home soon? She hasn't really lived in the new house, has she?
I am doing OK. Coming along with my health and weight loss. I am hoping I will reach my goal in 2017! Dan is seeing a new psychiatrist for both therapy and medication, so he only has to see one Dr and this Dr takes our insurance! But more importantly, Dan really likes this man and it seems to be a good fit! He had an hour and a half assessment, which is pretty much unheard of these days! And he was diagnosed bipolar! This is something I have thought for some time...and he started him on two medication about 4 weeks ago. I can see a difference and there's still 2-4 weeks to go to see the full effects! I have hope and I think Dan feels a difference, too!
Wishing you continued success with your health plan and hope your wife is back soon so you can be a family in the new house!
    Keep in touch!
    Hugs,
    Mary
