I'm a 34-year-old working mom of two girls who was a SparkPeople success story a decade ago. In my eclectic on-again off-again relationship with SP, I had lost 38 pounds at one point and was in the best shape of my life. A lot has changed since then, resulting in weight-gain.

But, if there's one thing that SP has taught me, it's that not all things are lost. I'm back to show all my fellow Kings and Queens of Excuses that the only person in the way of your goal(s) is YOU. Have faith in you and take that first step (even if you have to take it again and again!).

The WAY Beginning (May 2008):
Weight = 172.5
BMI = 27.8 (overweight)

SparkPeople Starting Point (March 2009):
Weight = 160 lb
BMI = 25.9 (overweight)
Waist = 30"
Gut = 37"

Lowest (January 2010):
Weight = 134.4 lb
BMI = 21.7 (healthy)

    Thanks for your comment on my blog! We all have to find what works for us and our body rhythms, and that's what's important, isn't it? Glad you have found a routine that works for you! I never thought I'd be a morning workout kinda gal, but once I got past the first few days i found it really helps me be more energized all day long. I'll work out in the evening when I need to, but my body responds much better to doing it in the morning. Have a great day!

    I was reading a blog where u gave great advice to a newbie runner & I looked at ur page and I saw all of the races that u have done! I've only ran one, but I did get bit by the racing bug and I signed up for another one. I'm crazy!! I signed up for a 1/2. Anyway, I hope u don't mind that I friend u! In the past 5 yrs, I've gone in spurts where I run for a few months and then I take a few months off. But, I've decided this is the year that I get back on track with running and changing my eating habits. I found your page so inspiring. You look great!! Keep up the good work!!!
