I have lost 140 lbs in the last year, after having Gastric Sleeve surgery. It's been great for me! But that doesn't mean it's been easy. The hard work is really starting now, and I am focusing on food and weight training in the coming months.

My Program:
Starting Chris Powell's Classic Carb Cycle.
It feels really complicated, so I am just working on the food side of the plan for a week or two, then I will add his exercise in.

Personal Information:
I have always hated to exercise... it even hurt to run when I was a little kid. But I had this dream a few years ago, where I was strong, and running freely from place to place... easily... it was so liberating. I want *that*.

I have RA, and am also carrying extra weight after having my last baby, so I move slowly and stiffly. I want to be stronger and more flexible.

Other Information:
emotional eater... yo.

My focus statement:
Just focus on this for a week.
Just focus on this for a month.
Just focus on this for 3 months.
Just focus on this for 6 months.
Just focus on this for a year.
Change your future.

Everything I don't like about myself, I can change.

Loved your comment on the Inner Fat Girl. I have been working on the root or key to the Inner Game of Weight Loss and this is another piece of the puzzle. We do have as it were two conflicting inside voices. Naming them both is a great idea.

I may borrow your idea and blog about this some. I have written a few ideas already on this subject of the inner mind workings.

    Thank you, again.

Thanks for the comment on my page. As for Atkins... well, I did it starting August 2003 and by February 2004 I had lost 70 pounds and by April I was down 80 total. I went from 260-180. I continued to eat low carb for quite a few years, but I started having some problems with the diet. I was drinking too much alcohol in University, and in the maintenance phase I started adding more carbs in and before I knew it, I was overloaded with them. To top it off, I found out I had GERDS and IBS, things that are irritated by oils, fats, cheese, and I am lactose intolerant. It really is a great way to jump start a loss... but as you can see... I gained back all 80 I lost on low carb and ballooned to 310. I think I realized, that for me, low carb isn't the answer long term... I can't do it.. and if you don't continue to do it, and if you start eating total crap, then you gain it all back the way I did.

Now with that being said... if you do low carb and one day decide you don't want to anymore, I think if you decided to eat everything in moderation and still watch your calories and what you were eating, you wouldn't gain 130 pounds the way I did. You may only gain 5 as your body got used to it. Anyways, some days I wish I could do it all over again.. but I think over all I'm trying to get my "carbing" under controlled. I want to get rid of a lot of the junk carbs.. you know?

Anyways hope this helped! Good luck on your journey!
