In 2009 I lost 50 pounds...and found 40 of them. I came back in January 2014 with a goal. Exercise 10 mins a day. I started with that and slowly incorporated hiking. I love hiking and have had the opportunity to explore many places around the world but there was one hike that I had never done and along with my husband we set our goal to do the Grouse Grind, lovingly referred to as "Natures Stair Master", this summer. On August 16, 2014 I reach a 70 pound weight loss and finished the Grind with my amazing husband by my side.

My next goal. Run a Spartan Race. In September 2015 I finished my first Spartan, 7.5K up the side of a ski hill with 20 obstacles. I can't wait to do another one! Lately I've taken up rock climbing. I love what losing weight has brought to my life, I can't imagine ever wanting to give this up. Down 105 pounds, nothing was going to stop me!

And then life happens and we let things get in our way and I was back up 30 pounds...and then 40...umm...and then 50.

Sometimes we need to restart, sometimes we need to regroup. Sometimes we need to put the food down, put on our running shoes.

My Goals:
To not feel my stomach on my lap when I sit down. To not feel the need to wear a long sweater out in public to hide my weight gain, which we all know fools no one.


My Program:
Meal planning.

Focus on cooking with fresh herbs from the garden and veggies from the farmers markets. No more pre-packaged quick meals.

Adding exercise and being accountable for the good and the bad.

What started with a commitment to 10 mins a day of exercise has lead to 5K races, a Spartan race and now rock climbing. I never made any huge changes, but keep evolving. I'm excited to see where I go next!
