Mom on a Mission
Apr 13, 2021--I am 1 week into the Spring 5%Challenge. Again part of the Awesome A Team! I had some health challenges starting in November with COVID-19. Apr 13, 2021--I am 1 week into the Spring 5%Challenge. Again part of the Awesome A Team! I had some health challenges starting in November with COVID-19. I started seeing a Nutritionist to see if she can help with pre-menopause issues. Oct 3, 2020--Today is the start of the Fall 5% Challenge. I am a proud Awesome A Team member. I did a great job today following my macros, getting in extra exercise and planning my Sunday School lesson for the morning. I gained back 2lbs during the break between the summer and fall Challenge, so those plus another 10 need to go. I will exceed my goal. Woohoo!! June 9, 2020--School is out. I am walking about an hour to hour and a half per day. No weight loss, which is frustrating. Trying to stay positive. Got the boys signed up for free summer language learning. Hope it keeps them entertained this summer. May 25, 2020--I am on the 8th week of the 5% Spring Challenge and week 9 of homeschooling. This is the last week of school and I am looking forward to not monitor homework. My DH had back surgery on April 30th and he is still on restrictions. He can walk and we have been enjoying 75-90 minute walks together. I had to go back on zoloft for this craziness of working from home and homeschooling, but at least I am not so high strung. I haven't made my 5% goal, 3 more pounds to go. It is a journey and I feel like my system is beginning to regulate after 4.5 months with the IUD. I am still getting too many headaches, ibuprofen works, but I am concerned that it isn't the best. Looking for advancement opportunities at work to have a little less stress. I taught zoom and Facebook live Sunday School for the past 10 weeks. One week to go for that. Looking forward to going back in person. I will be strong this week and get off my winter weight. Sparking every day. March 18, 2020--Day 3 of the COVID-19 quarantine. Ugh, so much harder than I thought it would be. At least the weather is warming up and I can go on 30-45 minute walks. My test results were negative, so I am thanking God for that. February 2, 2020--I've had a few health setbacks recently, started in mid-November. I'm still waiting for final test results and seeing if this IUD will help with perimenopause issues. Waiting for genetic testing results for my unusual MRI. Scary, but I need to start taking my health in hand whatever the results are. October 12, 2019--Woohoo, I am off zoloft. I have lost 10 lbs since I posted last. Feeling much stronger and healthier. I am consistently tracking, giving myself positive encouragement, and I have been working out 5 days a week.plus more food prepping, pre-tracking, and using my food scale 80% of the time. September 15, 2019--I gained weight during the summer challenge, not a fun place to be. I am motivated to make changes for me. Why? To lose weight, To be healthy, To reduce stress, To be there for my boys, For me time, To get to know like-minded people (joined a 10 week challenge at Fit Body Boot Camp), To look sexy in my bikini, To fit in my size 4s again, To get off zoloft, To learn how to maintain a healthy weight and lifestyle. I love Sparkpeople and it definitely helps me. As I am continuing to learn about my yo-yo dieting cycles, I do better in a group. Part of my reason why I love the 5% Challenges. Could I do all of this just through Sparkpeople, apparently not. I am missing the actual interaction with other women in person. I chose to move away from family, mostly because of their toxicity. However, I find myself getting isolated and not taking the steps I need to make friends here in my country home. My husband is not supportive of me doing challenges outside the house, as he knows it leads to me being tired, cranky, and spending a ton of money. However, I have let the stress of taking care of his mom, the stress of my job send me into a self destructive pattern. I need to be healthy for me and to be able to cope with crazy expectations. I don't want to be the mom who keeps losing her sh*t, failing at work from doing too much, not having enough time to spend with my family. Although I didn't realize it fully, it seems as if all this stress is depressing me. Hoping to truly change for me, so I can be the mom, wife, daughter-in-law I want to be. July 3, 2019--Getting ready to start the summer challenge. I'm looking forward to being an Awesome A team member again. March 30, 2019-- I got married 11 years ago today, 15 pounds lighter. Looking forward to the Spring 5% Challenge to get that weight back down. Keto is done for me, although still low/healthy carbs only like fruits, veggies and an occasional sweet potato. December 30, 2018--still on keto, although I have struggled through the holidays with all the delicious goodies around. I'm gaining and losing the same 3 pounds in the past 3 weeks. I'm okay with that. Looking forward to all the holidays being over on January 6th. October 24, 2018--2.5 months on keto. Shocked myself that I am sticking to this WOE. I still miss fruit and will add that back in after reaching my goal. Since Oct 7, I am down another 4 lbs. Weight loss has slowed significantly, but that's ok. It's still going down. Yeah! October 7, 2018--Almost 1 month of keto WOE complete. I've dropped 12lbs. Getting ready for a beach vacation next month. July 25, 2018--Having the time of my life with my boys and hubby on vacation at the beach. Nice long walks, boogie boarding the waves, swimming in the pool and relaxing. July 5, 2018--We're almost done with the first week of the Summer Challenge. I'm hoping I can meet my goal in 4 weeks in this challenge as well. Yesterday I was below my calories for the day, first time in forever. Just too busy to eat. Nice thing to happen. May 5, 2018--woohoo, so excited! I made my 5% in 4 weeks on the Awesome A Team Spring Challenge. Feeling so good about it. Now to keep the weight coming off the next 4 weeks. April 18, 2018--I'm back on the Spring Challenge as an Awesome A. Such a great team. 1st place our first week out. Pushing to keep up the pace this week too. My baby is 7 today, which means, I must maintain a healthy lifestyle and weight for him and his brother. Plus set a good example with staying active and eating good for me foods. I am already down 3 lbs for the 5% challenge and I have 5 to go with 6 weeks. My goal is to get the 5% off in 4 weeks. Then keep it up. January 22, 2018--I am part of the Awesome As in the 5% Winter Challenge. I slacked off after the Fall Challenge and got back to tracking in January. I am looking forward to a fantastic year, staying healthy and finding my new routine for indoor activities. August 29, 2017--I just completed the 5% Summer Challenge with the Rowdy Rebels and even though I missed my target by 2.5lbs, I am still 5 lbs less than 2 months ago, including an all-inclusive vacation, and traveling for work (happy hour including bar food). This is real life. Boys are back in school now and I will be finding my new routine that works for health and less stress. My trip to Dallas was without tracking and weight went up by 1 lb. My in between LTGL is to track everything weighing everything again, getting my healthy habit back. Looking forward to the fall challenge to keep me on track. I love the team spirit and motivation. Thanks Rowdy Rebels! July 14, 2017--I am staying on track with food, nutrition, water and exercise. It feels Great! I am struggling a little with being tired this week as I am taking my boys to Vacation Bible School at our old church. It's an hour drive down after work in rush hour traffic, thankfully when we leave at 8:00, it only takes 35 minutes to get home. But then I prep for the next day, clean up what I can and don't get to bed til 11. Work starts at 6, so I'm up by 5. I think I'm getting old, I need more than 6 hours of sleep a night. One good thing is that after the boys get settled in their activities, I go to the kitchen, eat my healthy dinner I packed with me, visit with friends and then take a walk. I've got vacation with my family planned in 8 days. We're going to Aruba, our first time there. It's all inclusive, which is mandatory with us traveling with kids. I will be tracking even while there. No measuring though, it will be the eye estimates. The Diet Fix recommends after I eye it to add about 20%. My goal for that week is to enjoy small portions of all the different foods. Yum, looking forward to some new local cuisine. Plus, there will be daily exercise, either swimming, snorkeling, walking or maybe even water aerobics in the pool. June 6, 2017--Life with boys and a MIL living with us makes for some ups and downs. My 6 yo had major surgery this spring and my MIL as well last month. Needless to say, I stress ate my way through it all. Finally back on track, but have a feeling peri-menopause might be making this go round more tough.
