A few weeks before I turned 36, my doctor told me that I was in danger of becoming diabetic. He told me that I needed to lose weight in order to prevent it.

I can't afford another health problem. So I am doing everything I can to lose weight. I have already lost 15 pounds on my own. I am hitting a point where I catch myself cheating. I need to keep my eye on the goal. So I am pushing myself harder and trying to find support where I can get it.

I currently live with one of my sisters and her husband. They are both diabetic and both overeat. They don't really care if their diabetes is getting worse. I don't want to end up like them.

I often feel very alone. I am isolated from the rest of the family. My friends don't understand the urgency. They have always known me as being sick and can't understand why I am frantically fighting having to add yet another diagnosis to my medical file.

So, here I am. Hoping to not feel so alone in this struggle.

My Goals:
I would love to get back down to 130. Prehypothyroidism, I weighed in at 110. I really don't think I can get that far down though. So 130 is a good weight for me.

I want to feel healthy. Ummm.. how does that feel?

My Program:
So far I have just been watching what I eat.

I have difficulty exercising due to various health issues.

I am trying to get started gently with some exercises.

Welcome to the Celiac Team. Probably not a fun thing for you to find out that you can't eat Gluten, but you will get used to it. There are so many products out there that are Gluten Free now that it is so much easier. But a lot of them are high in fat or calories so make good choices.

    Best Wishes

Did you quit? I hope not, but if you did, PLEASE COME BACK!
If you are concerned with getting diabetes, I know this is really important for you.
I've lost 33# and signed in every single day for the past 215 days, because I'm determined to get to my goal.
If you are an emotional eater, read "Shrink Yourself" by ROGER GOULD, M.D. as it is about emotional eating.
