It's 1.1.19 and I'm making a commitment to lose the weight, again.
I'm heavier and less fit than ever and need to make a change just to continue working and hiking. My sugar addition is slowly killing me, therefor I'm starting by giving up sugar, again.

Today, 1.1.18 I am starting over again. My first mission is to eliminate sugar. That takes away most of my favorite goodies and forces me to eat healthier things.

In 2017 I continued to eat too much junk....I gained back all that I lost in 2016 and 5 more.

In 2016 I lost 40 pounds by 9.1.16. Then I celebrated with some of the goodies that I hadn't had for eight months. I tried to stop but kept on eating those goodies. I gained back so much that my total for the year was just 23.5 pounds.

January 1, 2016 I started making the effort to lose weight again! I am staying away from sugar and flour almost completely. That eliminates most of the things that I love to pig out on and forces me to eat much healthier.
It seems that as soon as I stopped having sugar and flour I stopped having the insatiable cravings for cookies, candy, ice cream

My hubby got me a Fitbit for Christmas 2015. It is motivating me to walk more everyday. I am determined to beat my step goal everyday!

In 2016 I will weigh in EVERY Wednesday.
I will try to lose every week. It's OK when I don't!

I am enjoying hiking most Weekends with my hubby. We are doing about 2- 8 miles each time. We have explored some amazing places!

I have a chronic bladder condition that sometimes limits my activities. I will not let it stop me!

Veggies have become a much bigger part of my diet and hubby, who does most of our cooking, is on board with this change. He has perfected a yummy garlicky veggie mix that we have most nights with dinner and I have in my lunch the next day. Now I am mixing them in with scrambled eggs too.

I want to be healthy and fit! I want to be under 200 this year, 2019.

My Program:
I'm starting 2019 by staying away from sugar.
I must learn to eat healthier and make permanent changes to my diet.
I will also walk, hike, climb stairs, stretch, get stronger.

Personal Information:
I am 58, happily married to Tom. We live in Tacoma WA. I manage a distribution center in Kent.
We raised 5 terrific (most of the time) kids. Now we are enjoying the freedom of them being grown up.

I like to explore, hike, garden and travel.

There are many wonderful hiking trails not far from my home in Tacoma that I visit often.
Tom and I have gone hiking at least once a week for over eight years now. However, we are doing eaiser one than I would like due to my lack of fitness.

    Wendy.... I agree, it's time to WIN THIS BATTLE! I hope you do well buckling down today! So far I am doing good... I did have a candy bar, but it's left over from last week and it was sittign on my desk calling my name. I am keeping my calories/fat in check so it shouldn't do too much damage. The good thing is... I feel guilty eating it! That never happens...(until now).

    I know it is difficult to reach out and get involved - especially with teams that seem to be so established!

    Something I do is go to the SparkPages and they list everyone there that is just new to SP - I browse through and those that hit my eye for some reason, or seems to have something in common with my journey, and I leave a note on their page or give them a Goodie to welcome them and tell them something that I've learned in my short time on SP.
