I am a shut in, I do not get out of my house. I am 44 disabled since 2002 from Neuropathy and back problems. I live in PA with my husband and our Critter kids. 2 dogs and 6 cats. We are actually down from a few years ago. We had 6 dogs, 11 cats and a bird.
We found homes for a few and a few left us to be in a better place.
I can't go very far with my walker due to having cellulitis in my left leg and Neuropathy in both legs. I can't feel anything from my knees down. Makes walking hard and balance. I can only walk a few feet. The oxygen cord is my most challenging thing I constantly get tangled in the walker. Ha!
My highest weight has been 535 back in 2006 when I landed in the hospital for a diabetic infection in my foot and leg. Which lead to cellulitis. It was a BIG wake up call for me. 535 lbs!! How the heck did I get to this weight? I would see people on the news having their homes cut to get people out. I would see them and say "Not me, I would never get to that weight" "Won't happen to me"
Well....it does happen. I had the whole fire department here, police and they were wanted to cut my house appart. They didn't thankfully. But, by the time they did get me out my whole neighborhood was there watching. Felt like there should have been a TV crew to put me on the news as "One of those fat girls".
Then I went on Medifast. Which worked great I lost around 70 pounds the first month. Then my thyroid went nuts and I gain most all back. Here I come to find their products contained Soy which when taken with thyroid meds makes them not work.
The inactivity, my thyroid and my insulin resistance has been a long time getting all under control. We have a constant money struggle and are in bankruptcy for the second time. My husband was on unemployment for a long time and then lost his benefits. He went from no job to Two. We do get most of our food from a "food pantry" until we are caught up on bills. Most of it is all unhealthy foods. It is hard trying to get healthy when you don't have the money to get the proper foods. Why is anything healthy so expensive?
I am in one room in my house. Our bedroom is on the second floor. So my living room has been decorated with a hospital bed. I use oxygen at night to sleep so it is next to the hospital bed. AND I can't fit into the bathroom downstairs the door is too small for the walker. So my comode is in the living room as well. If you hadn't guessed by now my baths are done out of a basin with a nurse that comes and my husband's help. I am truly blessed to have him.
I love the spark community and am doing well. I have to warn you I am more of a blogger (as if you can't tell by now) than a forum poster. I try to check in on them though. I think I am forum challenged =p
I like to blog about anything though. Jokes, humor, interesting stuff, inspirational stories and when I have any personal stuff going on. I get the items from the internet I like to search around for different things. While being home all the time I sometimes get lonely and depressed so blogging helps me as well with that. It may sound weird but I even miss touching, hugs, and kisses. My Mom passed away severally years ago. Sometimes it still feels like yesterday. Not a day goes by I don't think of her in some way. I know she is in a better place but I still miss her terribly.
I love fairies and angels =) I am a Graphics freak. I love them and you will probably see my page change week by week as well as my profile image.
Each day is a gift from God. I believe everything happens for a reason. God has a purpose for us all. It maybe hard to see it sometimes, but with him all things are possible.
Happiness is a choice not something that just happens. You need to chose to be happy no matter what. For each problem God will see you through. It may not happen at the time that we like or how we like but it will happen and there is always a reason or purpose.
I am always on the look out for new friends.
I can't get weighed until I get to under 440 for the scale.
