    Hi Naomi,
Thanks for your reading and clear commentary on my blog today. It helped me feel more appreciative of having health and strength on a daily basis.

And thank you, belatedly, for your comment on my running blog. I love your what you said about running feeling like a prayer to life. Exactly!

Thanks for your comment on my blog yesterday. DH & I are having fun preparing for our summer adventure. Since he doesn’t know any Slovak, I’m getting practice as I teach him some words and simple sentences

Thank you Naomi for the reminder that we choose to enter events to celebrate our fitness and our capability.

I have this 'thing' that I became aware of last year. I fear deep deep inside myself that I am weak so I spend a lot of time trying to show myself and others that I am strong. But this never really works at quieting the deep voice that says, 'you're weak'. It is much better for me to say to myself, "You think you are weak. This is not a rational thought so accept its existence but don't let it dictate what you do."

So you have reminded me that I am letting the weak/strong belief control my mental state. I can now answer those voices with truth. I'm neither weak nor strong. I'm running this race because I enjoy the outdoors, I enjoy the feeling of pushing myself, I like being fit in my everyday life, I have a lot of natural capacity so I need big challenges to really push myself, I am on the upward curve of performance and this is just one more step on the ladder to better and better fitness in future races. When I look up front my navel I can see the wider horizon of my running career and put this race into perspective.

    Perspective, it's a beautiful thing!

    Thanks again Naomi!
