**UPDATE** 12/22/2018: Getting back to it once again. I had RNY gastric bypass done on 07/06/2016, and lost 180 pounds. I have gained 65 of those back because of being so stressed over the illness of my husband, a new high-stress job, having no money, etc., etc., I am trying again to get back to losing this weight once and for all. I'm determined to make this work. I have the tools and the knowledge. I just have to use both!

**UPDATE**11/19/2014: Quite a few things have happened since my last update... My husband and I have sold our home in Alaska and moved to a much warmer climate in Mesa, Arizona. We are in a very nice 55 & Over community with 2 pools, gym, clubhouse, ponds, and lots of places to walk. My health has really gone down over the past year as my weight has gone up. Hopefully being here in sunny Arizona will help my mood, my weight, and my health. We are also starting another *Project House* turning a 1978 double-wide manufactured house (okay, it's a trailer!!) into a comfortable home for both of us and our Olde Guy (our 17-year-old orange tabby named Fairbanks).

*UPDATE* 08/30/2013: Once again I'm going to give this a go. I'm more determined than ever to shed this excess me once and for all. A mental and physical lifestyle change is in order. *Eat Less - Do More* Let's do this!!

!!!UPDATE!!! 06/13/2012: I started a challenge on 06/01/2012 of 12 weeks of leaner and cleaner eating, daily exercising, mental reassessment, setting some goals for the future and doing my very best to achieve them. I've lost 9 pounds since then and am feeling pretty good about what I have accomplished and look forward to achieving my goals as they are set. Stay tuned, more to come!!

UPDATE: (11/07/2011) After gaining back everything I had lost and now only 0.01 from my highest weight ever, and having problems walking, breathing, sleeping, doing most anything, it's time again to take care of myself the best way I know how, and that's by coming back to Spark People. It was here that I learned the right way to lose the weight and had a bunch of fun doing it! Over the next year, I hope to get a handle on the emotional eating and lack of motivation that has led me once again to be almost 340 pounds. It's time to toss that "I don't give a sh*t about myself" attitude out and start loving me again. I'm sorry, self, can we be friends again?

UPDATE: (05/29/2011) I guess I really wasn't ready to start over back in January of 2010. After spending the past year dealing with uncontrolled eating and general nutritional mayhem, I feel that now is a good time to give this another go. A few things have changed and I will blog about them when I have a couple minutes. Welcome back to me!!!

Hi there and Welcome To WytchHazyl's! My name is Janet and I live with my husband, Michael, in Nenana, Alaska, a tiny village in the Interior about 60 miles South of Fairbanks along the Nenana and Tanana Rivers. I have a daughter who is 25, and was/is my Gift, Light of my life, my Comfort, my Clown. I have two Rugs That Eat (otherwise known as cats) Fairbanks & Chena that live with me and two Granddawgs, T-Bone & Mater, that live with my daughter.

I work from home as a medical transcriptionist (I listen to doctors talk over headphones and type what they mumble). I've been doing transcription for over 23 years now and still love my job, especially since I don't have to go outside when it's 40 and 50 degrees below zero!

I started SparkPeople on December 12, 2008, because of a comment Michael made on the way to town that day (read my first blog entry). It was time to get serious about being healthier and happier. I want to be, and am going to try my best to be 200 or under by my birthday.. my 50th birthday... on August 4th.

UPDATE: (08/04/2009) I didn't make it to under 200 for my 50th birthday, but I am way less than I was last year at this time. I haven't given up and am still working on becoming Fitter At Fifty!!

UPDATE: (01/07/2010) I am starting over with the new year. I crashed and burned with stress over the holidays and having a major injury that is keeping me off work (no work equals no money). I am bipolar and taking one thing (work) out of my *normal* routine has really messed things up. I am aware of the problem now and will use the tools I have learned to get back on track.

Come back and visit often, read my blogs, post messages. check out my photo gallery. I love to write and change things often.

Come back and watch first hand The Goode WytchHazyl getting Fitter At Fifty!

Place where I see the doc every three months. Well I just saw him about about a month ago and he took me off one of my antipsycotics (sp) because he thought it would help me lose weight. Well so far all its done is put me in a bad low.

Ty for the advice on getting a hold of my doctor. I am currently unemployed because of my mental health. Bipolar, ptsd, borderline personality disorder, schizophrenia. So I'm in the process of getting disability. Well I go to a government funded.

Hey girl, I've just become active on SP again, I had a little time on my hands, and found that you have returned too. I just wanted to tell you that I'm glad you are on and that I hope you are well. I'm not in Fairbanks anymore but am still around the SP site. Best wishes!
