This is me, a proud member of Forward! Marching Band.I like that I'm starting to look forward to exercising. Thank you, books on tape!is trying out the yoga CD and realizing how out of shape she is. Time to change that!I am so grateful for my treadmill; because, I tell you what, I am NOT going outside. Brrrrrr!Today's goal: find more sources of lean protein. When I look at that little pie chart nutrition info thing, I keep seeing that I'm getting more fat than protein. Off to SparkRecipes I go!Sprang for a Fitbit. Learned that my El Cheapo Walgreens Fitness tracker was basically not tracking most of my steps. Hooray!I fought the buffet and did not lose!day 30 of my streak for "Track food or water" earned 1/17/2017I made it over 12,000 steps yesterday. I find that hugely satisfying, and I'm not even sure why. Regardless, I'm going to try and do it again today.Took part in the Women's March yesterday here in Madison, Wisconsin. 20,000 steps with 75,000+ people. It was beautiful.Today is my fifth day in a row of over 10,000 steps. When I started on December 19th, I couldn't imagine taking that many steps. Progress!day 5 of my streak for "Exercise for at least 10 minutes per day" earned 1/28/2017I am proud that Slip Up Sunday begat Motivation Monday which, in turn, begat Take No Prisoners Tuesday. Fall seven times, get up eight!I just realized something neat. There's a big party at our house tomorrow. I can prepare for it by making myself a plate of food in advance, all measured out. No measuring anxiety!Despite the ferocious, reoccurring urge to get some fast food today, I did not. Not eating it tasted great. ??is fighting the good fight. Every time I just want to fall face first into bad food and too much drink, I hitch my loose pants up, grin at my unbloated face in the mirror, and do something else.Sometimes I wake up and wonder if I can win the day or if the day is going to win me. Then I get out of bed and realize I already won the first round.Back in beautiful Vieques, Puerto Rico for our annual trip today. Traveled better than I have in the past, and I'll take that as a win. Next up: raising that low bar. ????????I am back from 10 great days in PR. I am so glad to report I did NOT gain any weight there. Of course, I didn't LOSE any either, but I kept up on my step goal. Back on the wagon I go. Feels good.Yesterday, I hit a bump in the road. Today I went back and stomped on it! :-)Down 30 pounds since I started in mid-December. The thing I feel best about is that I did it in a healthy way with exercise and eating right. Not magic, but it sure feels like it. Go Badgers!Just like the Badgers, I survived the first day of the NCAA without doing damage to my eating plan. Yay!My new, smaller body makes a nice container for my happy heart.Saw this sign outside a gym today. Words to live by.I started at 215 on December 19. As of today, I am at 180. 15 more pounds to go to my goal weight. I am so appreciative of SparkPeople, the wealth and diversity of resources it provides, and the amazing people I get to share this journey with in all its ups and downs. Viva la Spark!Oh my gosh, these things are so tasty! They are a quick way to have a healthy, filling lunch or dinner, especially when paired with a salad or veggies. As an added bonus they are relatively low-fat (4g) and high-protein (14g). I want them up and brown them in a pan using just a little cooking spray. Bon appétit!I was feeling a little low earlier today, as I didn't have the best weekend from a dietary standpoint. I I needed something from the coop, about a mile and a half away, and walked there and back. It was on my return trip that it struck me like a bolt of lightning: unhealthy me would never, never, never have blithely walked that distance, at a brisk clip no less. Now I feel proud and happy.Wearing jeans for the first time in about 5 years. I feel happy and proud, and really really grateful to SparkPeople. We rock! All of us!It's not that I don't mess up. It's that now I know how to fix it and get back on track. It's not that I don't mess up or have bad days anymore. It's that now I know how to get back on track when that happens. Turns out, that's a really big deal. From a caloric standpoint, it has not been the very best weekend. However, I've had a wonderful time. Back in the saddle! We are "building" strong bodies! 😄Not proud of how I ate, but proud that I tracked it. 💪Four pounds away from my goal weight. 45 pounds gone. Just cracked the "normal" line for BMI. All glory to God!It has been a week since I made my goal weight.
