Somedays, I feel like I get most of my steps letting this fur ball in and out, and in and out, and in and out...of the house. How to lose 5 pounds in 2 weeks? Spark People! Tracking, community, and persistence. Thank you to all the people on this site who serve as examples and motivators on our journey to healthy living. This probably sounds like small potatoes to most people, but I've always had an issue that if I get off track with my food, I think that the whole day is blown anyway so might as well eat other bad things. Today, I fought that urge and won. I felt like I mostly made good choices today: went to Jazzercise and worked out, didn't get dessert at the work-provided lunch, ate mostly salad, didn't eat any ice cream after dinner. Wow - we are confronted with a lot of choices every day. No wonder this can be hard!I saw someone else post their avatar of where they are today and where they aspire to. Very motivational to keep on track. Not that I would ever dare to wear a bikini...I was gone on a business trip and thought I was doing pretty well with my portion control. Didn't have a lot of access to vegetables or fruit though. Came home and I am at the highest weight EVER. I am now 10 pounds about what was my OMG weight. Although I'm a bit low about it, I am committed to get through this.I was away from SparkPeople for a couple of months and came back to this wonderful feature of a community feed. I love hearing about people's success, struggles and suggestions. Very motivating. Well done SparkPeople! One day at a time. I always do great in the beginning but seem to get derailed after a couple of weeks. Either business travel or something else will take me out of my element for tracking food and exercise. Any suggestions for getting past these derailers?Seriously. Woke up this morning full of energy and not beating myself up inside my head after my first workout in over a year yesterday.Worked out for the first time today in over a year. Felt good, but I'm pretty sure I'll be walking funny tomorrow!
