Now that I am not stuffing down my emotions with food, I find my temper is a little hard to control. Right now I am spitting mad and having a hard time not flipping out at people. Since I am the boss it makes it even harder, because I know I could get away with it. (I am not advocating flipping out and yelling at people, that is not how I manage staff)

There are cookies sitting two feet away from me, but at this moment in time, fleeting as it may be, I would rather just be pissed off than eat a cookie.

*** later*** I didn't have a cookie and I am not so cheesed off now. Huh

    You need a little punching bag in your office! Or try taking a walk in the middle of the day—substitute emotional exercise for emotional eating, and your mood will probably improve.

    (But yeah, sometimes you just get cranky and there's nothing you can do.)
