Slacking

Ok so I have been slacking big time. I lost a few lbs but I think its because I havent had time to eat and when I weigh its always back and forth.

I swear its not easy with 12 month old boys getting around more and more everyday. They nap for 2 hrs and with everything else that needs doing I never feel like adding in a work out.

I guess my motivation has plummeted drastically. I really need to find it again. Maybe once the boys quit being sick Ill be able to get more sleep and feel refreshed and energized again.

I quit the the Kmart challenge. It was stressing me out too much to try and make goal when things come up and I cant guarantee a loss when I need it. So maybe next year, Im sure Ill still have a little left to lose.

Anyway for anyone who reads this that are in the teams I belong to Im sorry I havent been around. I will get myself back on track again soon. I just need to find a way to work it all in.

    Losing your motivation is the most difficult thing in all of this I think. I was doing really well until last summer when I got really ill when on my summer holidays in England. Eventually when I came back here (Hudson Valley NY) I ended up having my gall bladder out. Nobody tells you the dangers of a low fat diet, still, if it meant losing all this weight, then I guess it was worth it. With how ill I was and then recovering from the surgery in October, it took me months to decide to get back on track, and finding that motivation again just isn't easy!!!

    So, I thought I would share some of the things that help me stay motivated with you. I know some people really respond to challenges, especially when they are public and work harder so as not to let down a team or for the congratulations of their peers, but I find that the pressure makes me nervous and stressed. I found that I had much more success when I started out with goals that I knew I could meet if I tried, like drinking all that water every day and such, and then built up to more challenging goals. I set goals for myself that I feel are really within my reach and I always wait until I am regularly surpassing my goals before I reevaluate them. This way I get to check off that box every day and feel good about myself. I also never focus on pounds as they have a way of doing their own thing. Instead I focus my goals on things I know I can control like calorie intake, water intake, exercise, and that way, even if the scale sticks for a while I still feel like I have accomplished something.

    I hope some of this helps a little. I wish you the best of luck on getting back in the groove and rebuilding your motivation. It is hard, so much harder than when you first start out, but it is doable. Encouraging others helps too!!! Hang in there!
