I have not been watching what I eat. I have been just a sloth.

One day a customer came into my grocery store and I called over the loud speaker "Shelly...you look fantastic!!" Shelly has lost 107lbs. She has been eating 6 small meals a day and working out regularly. She has lost over 100 pounds in the two years I've known her. She always comes in and we talk about our weight struggles and she always speaks of her success and I give the old "I really need to get back on track....." In December she gave me a free month certificate to Curves, where she works out like 6 days a week.

I never went.

On March 10th she inspired me. To watch her walk through my doors at work and to hear her continue to talk about her new habits, even after all this time, she inspired me. She's not taking pills, drinking shakes and counting calories. She's eating healthy and exersizing.

I was about to go home for the evening when I saw her. Hit the computer, snack on some goodies and tell myself "I really need to get back on track...." I went straight to Curves. I began logging my food on Spark and using their strength training routine. I began drinking 1/2 gallon of water or more a day.

Now, I've only lost 2 pounds, but my arms are firmer. Yesterday, I noticed that my thighs are starting to feel firmer. And thanks to the water, my 40 year old complexion is looking better. I haven't moved mountains yet, but so far I am digging the changes.

I just wanted to thank all of those that inspire all of us to just get started, just try once and to keep on trying. Without Shelly I would still be singing the coulda shoulda woulda.

    this blog just caused me to get off my duff. I'm headed to the track that is a mile up the road.... and hope to get 2 miles in before dark. Thank you for being my inspiration for the day!

    Aw, everybody needs that kind of inspiration that you get from Shelly. Good for you, following her example.

    Exercising makes all the difference in feeling firmer. Working with weights helps lose inches. Muscle weighs more than fat, but makes you look fabulous. People think you lost weight just from firming up.
