Dreams come true!!

Wow, what an unbelievable week... But first here's a little background about me.
I grew up dancing & performing, being on stage was what I loved the most out of life. From 3 yrs old to my college years, I danced every style & song possible! However, grown up life happened, jobs, marriage, kids...well to keep it short and sweet, I put all the hopes & dreams I had to be on stage, on hold. It was well worth it, my husband & I are best of friends who made his career dreams happen. Having my two kids & staying home with them means more then words can express. So being able to do something I love, just for me, doesn't happen too often.
Last week I read in the local newspaper the college had been given the rights to put on the Broadway version of the musical Chicago! I admit, I can not sing a lick...but man, I can dance & acting has always come easy to me as well. So I get up the guts to audition & realize I'm standing in a huge group of 20-something young girls...after a 2 hour dance audition I realized, I may be 10 years old then these girls, but huh, I rock!! The dance moves may not have been right on the mark, but knowing how to show personality & having a blast must have impressed the judges. I got a call back for the next evening...not bad, only 40 people got call backs out of 118 people...I nervously awaited today for the paper to be hung, listing those who will be in the production. Felt pretty awesome to see my name among the other 20 women who made it...Wow!!!! If this isn't more motivation to get as leaned & toned as one can get in 6 months...well, I can't wait for the challenge!! I will keep everyone update with details, but to all of you who have dreams. Stop dreaming...you can achieve any thing you want!!! Get up & just do it!!!!
Wow, the past 2 months have been amazing!! I've been taking this advanced Jazz class to help get back into the groove of things for this musical & it's been a blast!! I have focused on yoga to help with the flexaibilty needed for dancing, and started to notice a change in my body already. We start 4 days a week pretty soon, and I look forward to the 3 hour rehearsals to help get me at my goal by performance time. It's going to be busy-busy-busy in my life, but it feels great to finally be doing something for me & have the support of my family and friends. Remember life isn't about what size you are...it's about doing the things that bring you joy & happiness. You must be true to yourself, life doesn't start at size 2...start living now!!!!
