A Mother's Day
By Pamela Jane Tennant
A Mothers work is unending, never done
She works at the office and at home
Nurturing, loving her wee ones, having fun
Smoothing curls, her fingers a tender comb.
Mothers are the root, the heart of all
They soothe us when we're hurt, in pain
Placing bandaids and kisses after we fall
Helping us make mudpies in summer sweet rain.
She helps with homework a meal in the oven
Feeds the pets, gets everyone in their bed
Tidies up the house, does the dishes and then
Wakes up one day wondering where time had fled.
Children all grown with lives of their own
House so still and quiet, so sparkling clean
Now you are waiting for the ring of the phone,
Planning holidays and visits for times in between.
Never happier then when family is reunited
Treasuring each minute, every smile and glance
Her Mother's heart couldn't be more delighted
For her, everyday is Mother's Day in love's stance.
To all the mother's out there...
I salute you,
I honor you,
I celebrate you,
I respect you,
I commend you,
God bless you!
May this be the very best Mother's Day in every way!
