We have babies!

We have babies - birds that is! (Got your attention I' m sure) After my son's wedding on May 31st, we brought home some of the ferns leftover and hung them on our front porch. I short while later I noticed a bird flying out of one of the ferns everytime I opened the front door. So I investigated further and sure enough, she had made a nest and had laid 5 blue speckled eggs in it. We've been watching as the mother bird has flown back and forth and during a pretty bad storm this week, she really huddled down in the nest and rode it out with those eggs. She looked kind of like a ship tossing on the ocean during the storm, holding on for dear life. I was thinking she must be really sea sick. Well.... after a month of waiting and watching, we now have 5 fuzzy little baby birds. Now we're watching her feed those babies just what they need each day.

It got me to thinking about how nature provides just what we need to grow and thrive. It's when we get outside of those boundaries that we start having lots of trouble with our health and our weight. Learning to "eat clean" is helping me to get back to those foods we were intended to eat - as close to nature as possible. I'm still not there yet, because so many processed, easy to fix foods are still a habit for me, but I am trying to be much more intentional about what I eat. It's a start!

I throw bread out in front of the window by my desk just so I can watch the birds. I love watching nature and you're right - it's so unnatural for us to be eating processed foods. We need to get back to nature!!

    Have a great evening,

How exciting to watch baby birds learning and growing. I have several bird and hummingbird feeders and I love watching them. I haven't been lucky enough to see them in their nests but I do see fuzz baby birds coming to the feeders. They are so cute. Good luck on relearning to "eat clean" on reaching all your goals.
