New Laptop=Back Online

Friday, August 08, 2008

I have been MIA for the past three weeks, but I'm finally back. My internet access has been sporadic at best and there was a whole week I wasn't able to log on at all. I didn't get the shakes, but I did miss it:) We moved out of our house which is why I haven't been able to get on here much. Thank you to everyone who left comments and messages. I really appreciate it and I will get back to everyone as soon as possible, but it may take me a week or so. Things are still pretty crazy for me for the next two weeks.

DH flies out on August 17 to Saskatchewan for training for his new job and he won't be back until February. Tonight is his last night of work and from tomorrow until he leaves we're trying to cram a bunch of fun things. There's also a couple of farewell parties for him that we have to attend. This could be the last time he sees a lot of his extended family for years since he'll be given two days to fly back here in February when we pack up all our stuff and then we'll be moving to who knows where. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed for now that it's not somewhere too horrible.

I don't deal well with change and I've been kind of feeling sorry for myself lately. After we sold the house my daughter and I moved in with my parents where we will live until February. It's a lot to adjust to and on top of that my daughter has decided that she doesn't want to sleep anymore. This of course means she has also decided that I don't want to sleep anymore. She's been getting up in the night 2-3 times and then she's up and ready for the day sometimes 2 hours earlier than she used to get up. I know it's probably just her getting used to a new house and new routine, plus it hasn't helped that we've been shuffling her back and forth between two houses. DH has been living with his parents since it's closer to work and he needs to sleep during the day since he works nights and he wouldn't be able to do that here because it's too noisy with more people and dogs. Once things settle down and we get back into more of a routine I hope I'll be able to start getting some decent sleep again.

I stopped logging my food the day I packed up my computer when we moved. It wasn't a decision I made, but it kind of just happened when I wasn't able to get near a computer. It was really weird for the first week since I've been logging my food for almost two years now. I was so afraid that I was going to start gaining weight, but it turns out that everything I've learnt over the past couple years has stuck with me and I'm successfully maintaining my weight. I may start tracking again after DH leaves, but I haven't really decided yet.

Enough for now. I'd better go and come up with some August goals before the month is over!

Sarah, even in your trials I see a deep undercurrent of strength. You will do well during this transition, and it will spill over into people like me. Your little girl is lucky to have such a role model. *lynne

Helloooo Sarah! Welcome Back. I too have been MIA. Moving is a big change; it is one of life's greatest "stressors" so take time out for yourself. Remember too that this is a big adjustment for your baby girl...change effects her, too. Give her extra snuggles. I hope that your family can be a strong support for you during these difficult days...

Awesome on maintaining! You should be proud. What a great role model youare.

Happy days lie ahead for you. BIG HUG.

Oh my goodness what craziness you're dealing with! I'm very impressed with your attitude. I think I would be a jumpled mess of tears. lol! That's awesome that you're able to maintain with such ease. I haven't learned that lesson yet...still working on it. I pray that the remaining time with your hubby will be wonderful and joyous! February will be here before you can blink.
