Asking for nutritional information

Saturday, August 30, 2008

I've just recently started asking for nutritional information when I go into a restaurant. Sometimes they don't have it, but many times they do and it helps me be more moderate in what I eat.

Friday night at O'Charley's, I asked for information after I'd already chosen my high-calorie food. I was planning to eat only half, but when I saw it was 1,100 calories (and 110% of the RDA of sodium!), I definitely stopped before I ate the whole plateful. If I had also NOT eaten the rolls, I would have stayed inside my calorie count for the day...next time, I WILL send back the rolls. Really.

I have found that surpsingly a lot do not have it! But asking and then if they don't I let them know they should and it will effect my decision on where to dine.
