Well I did it!! Sept 7th/08 I rode in the Toronto MS Bike Tour and I, and everyone I know, thought I was only going to complete the 30k route. As I started I changed my mind and decided to do the 55k route, in the rain! I pushed myself beyond my limits (way beyond!)both physically & mentally. Near the end I had to scream my way up hills, but only had to walk up the one ginormous one! (to keep from puking! REmember to hydrate!) I had to set smaller goals of just the next ridge, get to the bridge. I kept repeating to myself that I could do it, just keep pedling, and all the encouragements from my friends & family. I was soaked, tired & sore but when I crossed that finish line under my own volition I sobbed with pride & joy at my accomplishment. I didn't set any time records, but I never gave up and I FINISHED! Now I KNOW I can do whatever I put my mind to, that I am stronger than I think, and that a little pain is nothing compared to the sense of accomplishment in succeeding in something you NEVER thought you could do.Thanks to everyone who ever posted a positive thought on sparkpeople, because they are part of this accomplishment, too! emoticon
