Day 12 ~ Smaller amounts, less often
I know that when I start a diet, one of my first thoughts is I will NEVER be able to eat Mexican Food (chimichanga's) again! What I need to do instead is plan for it. Instead of eating the whole thing, maybe three times a week; limit myself to (let’s start with) once a week, and instead of whole, just have half.
That’s where smaller amounts, less often comes into play! Ok, let’s say you eat a huge bowl of ice cream every night! It’s time to cut that down to say half a cup once a week. Plan for it, that way you have something to look forward to. Eventually you may even get to the point that it doesn’t sound that good at all, and you can substitute some fresh fruit or veggies for it!
We tend to give our favorite foods power, by planning for the amount and when we eat our favorite foods, we take the power back!
Today’s assignments: (As always jot down notes for each assignment.)
• Write a list of your favorite foods. Put as many on the list as you want.
• Choose three of the best ones and write a plan for eating these foods in smaller amounts, less often. Be specific about when and how much you’ll eat.
• If you wish, record the days and amounts on a calendar. Add your notes below.

On this day I love Mexican food and find it hard to chose healthy at those items. I did go to mexican restaurant the other night and looked over the menu a hundred times and decided on the taco salad. One because it was later than I would normally eat at night, so I give myself credit for thinking about sleeping on a full stomach. Plus, I just got done doing 45 min of TKD. I only ate half of the shell because I ate chips. I had lots of salsa and no sour cream to add calories to it. I also asked for chicken instead of beef.
I am going to work on this concept of eating less. At home I am great about weighing and measuring my food but want to get better at it when I eat out or at a party where I can eat whatever I want.
