Today I had the priviledge to vote for the first African American President of the United States. My son was so excited because this is his first year to vote and he was up at 6:40 this morning to be one of the first at the Poll. I hope that we can come together and work together to put our economy back on the right foot and come together as a nation. I am sorry that his Grandmother did not live long enough to see her grandson become president

I took my seven year old son with me to the booth and let him press the button to submit my vote. I think that getting him involved this early will help insure he will be an informed voter. He was sad to learn he had to wait so long to vote. He told me that he was gonna vote for Obama next time. I just smiled and said me too... He actually went to the Nickelodeon website and they had something on there where he could vote. He was so excited that he thought his vote counted...lol. I too was touched and tearful during Obama's acceptance speech. I think that he will go down in history as one of our greatest presidents. 4504 days ago

I didn't realize his grandmother passed away until his acceptance speech. Then I cried. (one of many during that speech!!) She hung on so close to the end....but I believe she knows what happened tonight. She was there. She saw history happen. And she took pride that she helped raise that man who would grow to become President!!
