Escaping the Quicksands

Thursday, December 11, 2008

It's so easy to allow the quicksands of life to grab hold of you and slowly pull you down till you eventually get pulled under. I had almost let myself sink to no return, but when I didn't have the will to live, I had a husband that prayed for me and I believe that it was his prayers (and those of my Spark family) that pulled me through.

I still have remnants of the quicksand stuck to me, but I feel like I'm on stable grounds again. Slowly but surely I'll brush those remnants off and press towards my Promise Land.

Here's to a new start to a new life for me....again.

Girl, the next time you step in that quicksand, grab my hand and I'll pull you out!

    When my heart is troubled
    There’s no peace in sight
    It is in this moment
    Oh Lord that I cry
    Jesus, savior of my soul
It is you and only you that can make my spirit whole

In this situation, in this very hour
Lord I pray that through this
    You would reveal your power

    Yet in the darkness
    Still I will sing
Even though my eyes can’t see
I will praise you for the victory
I will sing, I will dance
I will praise you in advance
    For the victory
    For the victory

    I know you’re here
    I feel your hands
    Just help me through this
    Give me strength to stand
