Merry Christmas!!!

I just wanted to take this opportunity to wish each and everyone of you a very Merry Christmas. This year doesn't seem right to me at all because of the events of the past couple of months but I really have a lot to be thankful for and I thank God that I am still alive to even be here this Christmas season. Most people around here seem so wrapped up with the bad economy and buying presents and hanging on to their homes and all these different things and that is understandable...BUT... whether Jesus was really born on Dec 25 (I don't think He was) or not, it is the day that we chose to celebrate His birth and it all seems to be forgotten this year by so many people. My neighbor's kids said that Christmas was all about getting presents and they are old enough to know better. (and they even go to church every Sunday). That really weighs heavy on my heart this year. I didn't even put up my Nativity Scene and that is the first thing that goes up at my house every year.
My prayer for everyone this year is to remember why we have Christmas and just for a second sometime during the day, thank God that Jesus was born and did what He did for us. I also pray that God give each & every person on this earth a special blessing. I hope that He wraps His arms around a homeless person and reminds him/her that they are loved, I hope He saves someone from dying too soon (no telling how many of us will live through the day because He is watching over us!!!) I hope he turns an alcoholic or a drug addict's life around and shows them that there is so much more to life. I hope that He brings peace to our world. He can do anything.
"Mary did you know that your baby boy will someday rule the nations?" I LOVE that song by Kenny Rogers & Winona. That baby boy has sure blessed me over & over in the past 51 years and I want to thank Him and wish Him a Happy Birthday.
Peace and love be with each and every one and God Bless You!-Leslie
