I am feeling better.

Monday, May 04, 2009

I had been having tremors daily for months and had become fed up with it. I researched what can cause them and found that the thyroid, among a slew of other things, could cause it. I went to the doctor, but got nothing conclusive one way or another from that route. I found in one place that there were vitamins you could take that are good for your thyroid, so I got them and started taking them, just in case. It has been about three or four weeks since I started now and the tremors have pretty much dried up, pointing towards the thyroid as the problem. Not having tremors is quite a relief! In an effort to lesson the tremors I had been overeating. I wasn't doing it deliberately, I just "needed" to eat more. It is so liberating not getting tremors even before I would get hungry! I can wait to eat until I am hungry and if I don't feel like eating, I don't have to eat. I must admit that I am not eating even though I am hungry just because I can. I don't mean that I am starving myself, just that later in the day, after my lunch has worn off, I will have hunger pangs and realize that my stomach is empty and I will ask myself if I want to eat, and I will think, no, I don't feel like eating. Then later, my stomach protests loader and I ask myself again, at which point, I may or may not eat. I will probably get over the novelty pretty soon, but it is nice right now!

You know you get tremors if your blood sugar gets too low. Try eating five small meals a day. Healthy. Match your carbs and proteins. Complex carbs are best. I had low blood sugar for a while and they said to keep carrots on hand natural sugar. Did they test you for hypoglycemia? I was borderline for a few years. Always kept packs of peanut butter crackers and fruit with me.
Make your own trail mix too. Put a few chocolate chips, lots of raisins and different nuts. Easy to pack. If the tremors get bad try something sweet quick and see if it helps that's a sign that it may be that.
    Good Luck and get better!!
I'm the one that has enough health problems for all of us!! LOL!

I'm glad you're feeling better, but you do know you should eat before the hunger gets too bad, or statically people are more prone on overeating when they finally do go to get a meal. Still, I'm really glad you're feeling better though. Was afraid the Swine Flu got you

So glad you are feeling better and the vitamins have helped! Delight in your victory over controlling when you will and will not eat - that's pretty sweet while it lasts.
