oowww how I wish I had blisters now.....

Tuesday, May 12, 2009

if I had blisters, I would not have been able to run. I would not have gone out when my knee was already hurting a little and I would not have damaged it so badly that now I cannot even walk very well!! Lessons to learn:
never ever ever work out when injured - even only slightly
never run before you can walk!
take things slowly - very slowly (tortoise not hare)

So I probably now have a week or more of limping around and so I cannot even do my usual cardio or strength workouts, grrrrrrr. Ok. Nothing I can do about it now. No point feeling crappy about it. I will rest my leg, then I will resume my cardio and strength training. I will swap the running program to a cycling one, until I have lost some more weight. I will attempt running again only when I have a BMI under 30 and I will take it VERY VERY slowly.

Now I have to go and make some lunch and make sure that I am careful with my food intake this week, as I will not be burning any of it off!!!

Oh oh that gives me an idea for our 90 in 09 team. Well my lovely, I hope you rest! Do not do too much until you are feeling 100%. If you have access to a pool, I would swim. No pressure on the knees at all. I could not complete day 3 of week 1. My knees hurt so bad after day two, I still hurt a week later. I didn't attempt another wog. I figured I better stop before I am not able to walk or exercise at all.

I hope you are feeling better soon!

oh no!!! That is so frustrating!! I hope you feel better soon.

I am so into working out and losing weight that I find that I push myself more than I should as well. Then like you end up injuring myself and having to take even more time off. I"ve finally realized like you that taking it slow is definately the way to go. Good luck!!!! Take care!

Oh man, I am so sorry. I hope you haven't really injured it...

SO a cycling program, is there such a beast? How do we find one? I'd be on board to do that with you! My BMI is at 40. :( SO i have a ways to go to get to 30..... sigh.
