My Medifast Diet Meal Day

Saturday, June 06, 2009

Medifast Diet Users.
AM - Oatmeal
Mid AM - Shake
Lunch - Beef Stew
Mid PM - Shake
Dinner: Salad and a lean meat
Late PM - Shake
Lots of water all day
Plus 45 min to 1 hour at gym almost everyday.
Treadmill, bike, thigh inner/outer machine. Other machines.
I started again and at the end of week lost nothing. So I give up and pig out on something I shouldn't eat.
I followed the diet to the letter in the beginning and lost at least 2 lbs a week then it stopped. I started in September of 2008 and by November end I didn't lose anything. I continued the diet but didn't lose anything. Still not losing anything. Well thats it. Now what??????

Maybe eat some additional lean protein, and make sure you are having a shake within 30 minutes of finishing your exercise. (that's what my coach says for me!)

I agree - maybe you need a little exercise break - or some FUN exercise outside of the gym walls. Outdoor boot camp? Walking in the park? Lifting weights in the back yard? Riding your bike with friends? Something fun and social - can you take a dance class or just go dancing with friends? (I secretly LOVE country line dancing. I'm terrible, but I sure do sweat a lot and leave smiling!)

Perhaps the calories that are inn the Medifast diet aren't enough. I had the same problem with different diets over the years which I why I never got down to my proper weight before plateauing for months and then gradually putting it all back on again and more. I am eating far more on this diet with Spark than every before and that started in January with Rosemary Conley. I started in January at 242 lbs and was told to have 1700 calories a day. It seems currant thinking is that the heavier you are the higher your metabolism so the more you can eat to lose weight, but you also need to get the exercise in too. I've been losing a stead 2lbs most weeks but I am exercising about 1 to 2 hours most days now. Just a thought anyway. Hope it helps. emoticon Jean

I agree with Erikasimi :) ANd if you aren't too thrifty, you can invest in the metabolism booster thing. It's like a water flavor (not too bad) and you're supposed to drink it 3 times a day for optimum results. The whole thing is, there's only 21 in a box...so you get a week in a box and they're a bit on the expensive side, $16 something each, but I'm sure you can get it on ebay cheaper. Now, I'm not sure if it works, but I would get a box to try it out. I really hope everything works out for you! Good luck!

I know it is frustrating to not lose. Is it possible that you are exercising too much? I know medifast recommends no more than 45 minutes of vigorous exercise a day. This was a problem for me when I hit a plateau. my doctor told me to exercise less, and to my surprise, it worked. It seems like you are following the diet to a tee though, so don't give up, that is the part I have a hard time with. Good luck and I hope you break through it.
