Not going to stop breastfeeding...not yet anyway.

Sunday, June 14, 2009

Well thanks to a few friends and some supportive words, I have decided to try a few more things before giving up breastfeeding. I am just not ready and neither is my little guy. So I am trying Fenugreek to increase my supply and I am going to just try to remember that even though he is having tummy issues now, it may be worse with formula. And I know that regardless of what his tummy is feeling, his body is better off with my milk. We can work around the tummy trouble. So thank you friends for helping me realize that this wasn't exactly what I wanted and for reminding me how important breastfeeding his for me and him. Wish me luck!!

Make sure the seal around Babies mouth is good & tight. When he suckles most of the areole should be covered . If you can remove him from the breast easily, without breaking the seal with your pinky, chances are he is taking in air causing gas. Good luck to you & Baby. emoticon

My other advice....................don't blink.....................they grow up way too fast !

How are you doing? If your son is having a lot of colic, then try staying off of milk products especially milk. Just take extra calcium and vit D. Drink lots of water and keep up the good work. Hugs to you and baby, Jetta

I am glad you decided to keep breastfeeding! I know it can be hard. My son spit up everything for the first 6 months. I to tried formula but it just made it worse. Finally my son was diagnosed with GERD, so no matter what he ate he was going to spit up most. They then put him on a medicine to help the reflux, but it took them and me 6 months to figure out. Good luck. Mary

Good luck with it all to both you and your little guy! And, wow, are you back to work today? That will be an adjustment for you... Good luck with that, too!
