Exercise update

I am moving along on my 30 day challenge with EA sports Active (for the Wii). Two days ago, I was doing the workout and they have an exercise that is a squat held for 45 seconds. Two of them! I guess I am too old and have RA in my knees, because I haven't been able to walk or go up/down stairs, or sit without pain. I have used ice and pills, but so far nothing is working. Needless to say I have suspended the workouts for two days. I don't know when I will be ready for more Active workouts, but I am planning on using Wii fit exercises that I can do with the bad knees.

    gosh i really hope you feel better soon. im having an issue with my finger.. just the one that normally gives me an issue... now i feel really really lucky thats all im dealing with.

    Definitely suspend activity until they feel better--but you can stretch the knees and flex them while 'resting' them, and that will strengthen them. You're only 40--I don't think age has anything to do with it. It has to do with flexibility. I'm 47 and I can hold a fully bent squat for longer than 45 seconds. BUT, I have worked to stay flexible over the years through all my fat. lol Baby steps!! Also, are you stretching good and warming up before these exercises? that will help, too. DON'T GIVE UP!! you CAN be flexible at 40!

    Definitely lay off until your knees are better. And then when you start off again, maybe don't bend quite so far or skip those. I have knee troubles so alter the exercise to prevent injury.
