So much has gone on since my last blog. The most recent event, sadly is the passing of our 13 yrs old dog, Shadow, this afternoon. We knew it was coming, just not when. This is Shadow being bathed by my sis about a week ago.
Most of May and June for me was spent at work and in doctors offices. My pain/rehab doctor started me on a new medication, Savella. I loved the results for my pain, but it works like an antidepressant. Either by coincidence or because of the Savella, the Lunesta I take to sleep stopped working. I was down to a couple of hours of interrupted sleep a night. All together, this made me really happy and really tired at the same time. This made keeping up with everyday things tough. A change in my sleep aid, now Roserem, and I'm getting 5-6 hours of continuous sleep most nights. My doc has increased my dose of Savella and the pain in my arm is finally well controlled for the first time since I had the Tdap vaccine last year in April. My brain MRI was clean, not a surprise. I've seen an Infectious Disease doc just to see if he had anything new to add. His only suggestion was to increase my pain meds and that it was going to take time, but he thought my arm would get better. I'm waiting an appointment with a new Neurologist and an appointment with an airrosti practitioner. I'm not completely sure what they do even from their website, but the insurance company suggested it and my doc said it couldn't hurt to give it a try.

May brought my little sister Jennifer's High School Graduation.
She has decided to attend McMurry University in Abilene, TX and major in Pre-Engineering/Physics. She will be playing soccer for them. We visited her new school last month and she registered for classes and got her laptop for school.
We had a Lula themed Graduation Party for her, my nephew (he actually graduated last year) and his girlfriend. We also included a friend's birthday and Father's Day for my Brother-in-Law. He has a new job as a trucker and was going to be out of town on Father's Day.
We went to a family reunion up in Cleveland, Ohio over the 4th. We had a great time. Lots of family, food, fireworks and a few side trips. Just way too much time in the car. We went up to Niagara Falls on the third.
The fifth a group of us went on a scenic train ride through a National Park. We had a train car just for our family which was very nice.
We drove all day the sixth and spent the night in Memphis. We went to Graceland yesterday with my uncle before driving home.
Wow! It's been a busy few months. That's the big stuff that's happened in my life. Overall, I've managed to eat right, drink plenty of water and continue loosing slowly. I've made it to a few belly dance classes and exercised as much as possible.
