At peace now

Sunday, July 26, 2009

In my last blog, I was talking about my father, and the fact that his cancer came back. Well, it came back with a vengeance. He passed away on June 6th, and is now in a better place. He no longer has to suffer and feel all the pain that the cancer was causing him. I would like to thank everyone who sent out prayers and goodies and comments about the subject. I am blessed that I had people who cared and supported me and my family through this time. My sister and I have learned a big lesson out of this, that there is no better time than now, to spend time with family. And I just don't mean immediate family, but cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and close friends. You never know what to expect, so it is wise to spend as much time as possible with them. If it means going out to lunch or dinner. Going shopping, or even picking up the phone and calling them. They will know you are there, and they are there for you . Thanks.

My condolences to you and your family. I, too lost my father this year (March 6th) to cancer and can relate to your blog 100%. I have always known spending time with family is important, but this drove that fact home for me, as well. Take care and God Bless!

How beautifully raw and well said. Peace to you and yours. I lost my dad suddenly 12 years ago. It still hurts; I can't tell you that it won't, but it does lessen. You are so right that the pain and suffering is over for your dad. He has no pain, no suffering; no fear. We cry for ourselves down here.

Keep up the time with your family and the time you spend getting healthy for you and them. Time spent with family is time not wasted, or is it "time well-wasted?"
