Anger management

Friday, August 07, 2009

I have been very upset from work events. I was assigned a new group and a new desk location. I do not deal with change well. Anyway, I was quite angry at my boss and some of my co-workers during this time. It probably also had to deal with my hormone fluctuations and not taking my sanity medication. The way I dealt with stress and anger this time was to take a walk outside. I kept walking until I was focusing on my body instead of the anger. I was so proud of myself that I did not resort to food right away. Of course the hormone situation has led me to not eat as well as I should. I wish that the healthier foods would satisfy my cravings, but the apples and cherries just don't satisfy my sweet craving. I also have slowed down on the exercise. I am sure this is short term.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

I have a lot of trouble with emotional eating and I think it is great that you went for a walk. That is really cool. You did something good for yourself. Way to go!

Congrats for not throwing a shoe at your boss/co-workers when they made you mad. I know that sometimes that takes more effort than anything else. And you utilized exercise to take your mind off your troubles-that's awesome!!

As for having cravings that fruit does not satisfy-we all have those. Sometimes I think it's better just to allow a little of the "bad foods" in out diet, to make the cravings not as intense.

    Keep up the good work

Awesome job on going for the walk! I agree with SREEVESTX, you Should be really proud of yourself! As for the sweet cravings, here are a few things that I like...might help??

Fresh Pineapple - to me its the sweetest, juiciest fruit I could find!
Jello - wide variety of flavors, and its not expensive.
Chocolate Frozen Yogurt - tastes exactly like ice cream, with way less calories.

And of course there are tons of 100 calorie snacks out right now, that you could keep on hand. Just for those GOTTA have moments.

    Hope this helps..... emoticon
