Okay so I went and ran tonight with the hubby. We did a friendly 5k in our subdivision. He beat me, but my times were stronger than usual.
Mile 1 9:21
Mile 2 10:10
Mile 3 10:33
not horrible, stronger than when I'm by myself. Guess it helps to have someone in front of you to keep pushing you :)
New shoes--oh I love--L-O-V-E my new shoes. I felt NOTHING, I repeat NOTHING tonight. Okay 1 time on the one toe that is all black an blue, but only once and only for a second. I realized my toes were all scrunched up, when I straightened them out it rubbed and I had a little pain, but that was it. NO NEW BLISTERS tonight and my feet felt good afterwards.
Decided tonight I'm doing my hill routine 1 more time before next Saturdays big race. I'm not doing the full routine though---6 miles. We are going to drive out to the hills within a mile of the hills and do hill work from there instead of parking the 2 miles away and running to the hills. I figured 1 mile would be a nice warm up before tackling the hills. I guess what made me decide that was I seen the map of the 10 mile course. The hills that are in this race come in at mile 5, then after the 3 hills we go thru this GORGEOUS subdivison that has rolling, sleeper hills pretty much all through out....so seeing that map pretty much made up my mind right there-- I have to do the big hills one more time.
I also seen the schedule of race events. The 10 mile race starts at 8am, then theres the other races but my hubby is doing the 5k, that starts at 10 am. So there is my incentive right there, I have to finish under 2 hours!! LOL I did the 9.5 the other night in I think 1 hr and 30-35-40 I can't remember right now but I know if I had of ran the 10 miles I was under 2 hours---thank goodness!! LOL I want to see him start the race as well as finish the race as this is his first race.
