Thanking God in advance

Saturday, August 22, 2009

A few weeks ago I wrote on my daily status that I was thanking God in advance for resolving a family situation. At that time, I did not know the situation which seemed impossible to be resolved will change so quickly. When we give God our problems and don't worry about it, thanking Him in advance for resolving it. He gives us the peace that surpasses all understanding.

God has options we haven't even thought about. It's wonderful to leave things in his hands.

Yes, I do that - a kind of 'thank you for what you're going to do' after I've presented requests to God. Reminds me that he has the ultimate power over the situation.

I can appreciate this so much. I had an important meeting with a new endocrinologist this week, it's always a fight to get past their dogmatic thinking, and was trying to pump myself up for it, but I was feeling sluggish that day, and worried that I would not have the energy I knew I would need to get the outcome I really needed. I sat there in the waiting room and just asked God to help me. Take charge of my words, and help me to find favor with the Dr. and do you know that dr. spent 2 hours in the room with me discussing my situation and the outcome was better than I expected. I left there thinking "Thank You, Lord!, Thank you, Lord!, Thank You for being a God that heals, and answers prayer. I need to learn to put more things in his hands, even the little stuff. He's much more capable than I am. That's for sure. Thanks for sharing that.
