Getting Back on Track Redux

Ok, so my last blog entry ended up being a lot of "sound and fury, signifying nothing." Right as my intentions were grand and noble and on the verge of being put into action (a 3 day exercise and tracking streak), work went all pear-shaped/crazy and all those intentions just fell by the wayside. Completely. Despite almost 3 months during which the words "work out" didn't even pass my lips, let alone actually happen, I still managed to lose 8 pounds... while I'd like to claim kudos, I know it's simply the result of all that work-related mayhem/stress. But far be it from me to look a gift-horse in the mouth... I'm going to take that 8 pound advantage and make the most of it! Now that life has returned to shades of normal, it's time to get back at it for realsies. That way, the next time stress hits, I'll be prepared to handle it in healthier ways and it'll be less likely to disrupt my healthy living habits/workout motivation.
As for the getting back on track itself? So far, I've worked out everyday this week and, despite not always staying within my nutrition ranges, tracked all my meals and workouts (woo-hoo!). My goals for this week are to 1) maintain my current workout and tracking streak; 2) actually plan my meals in advance (as much as possible) so that I can do a better job of staying within my range and 3) start adding some jogging/running into the exercise mix.
I'm buying new running shoes on Monday - my first "serious" pair in almost 10 years (double woo-hoo!). I almost can't believe how much I'm looking forward to it.
