10,000 steps and dizziness

Friday, September 25, 2009

well, I still have not made it to 10,000 steps in the last 2 days.... 1st day I did not start till around 2pm, cuz I bought the pedometer... yesterday, I walked 8785 or something like that... I was working tho, and I work 12 hour shifts, so I sat a lot yesterday... So I think that was good for yesterday..
and today emoticon I forgot my pedometer at home!!! I am so bummed!! But I am aware that I am just going to walk as much as I can... And probably go for a walk after dinner with the kids... (it is 730 am and I have 11 hours left of work so there is a lot of time to come up with an excuse!) or be tired... So we will see.
I did not work out yesterday or today... I have just been way too sore....
And when I stand, I am dizzy, and my eyesight goes black, just for a few seconds but it is almost everytime I stand up! What can that be from?? I do not have a day off of work till Monday. I am wondering if I should make a doc appt... Oh, my head hurts for that few seconds too! Kinda scary!

If you get dizzy upon standing it might be blood pressure related. When I was a kid, my pressure tended to run really low and whenever I got up from sleeping or from sitting for an extended time I'd have to do so very slowly. I finally figured out that when laying down, I'd first go to my back, then up on my elbows, then sit upright, then swing the legs to the side of the bed, then get up. When sitting I'd first bounce my legs a little to kind of "pump up" and then slowly stand. I also try not to sit for extended periods of time.
That being said, it would probably be a good idea for you to make an appointment with your physician so you can get things checked out.
Please blog when you find out what's going on!
