Another Busy Day

Wednesday, September 30, 2009

Today I went for another hike alone. The leaves are really falling and so are the nuts. It's crunchy as well as treacherous.

I ran errands all day and got groceries.

One of the things I hate about being on a diet is having to grocery shop at 4 stores to get things I need for my diet. The grocery stores here are lacking. I wish we had a Dierbergs.

Its so funny - I STILL remember when I moved out at 17 (I know .. yikes) and I adored grocery shopping. It was an adventure. I tooled down this isle and that, and pondered choices. I often shopped very late at night because the stores were nearly empty and I could just meander. I miss that. Now, I'm just like you - I think, "Oh MAN... do I HAVE to drive all the way across town just to get that item at that specialty store?" eeeehhh. But, I guess its a huge blessing that we have so many choices available and the abundance to get what we need. I live out in the 'boonies' too, and my best g/f lives even farther out so she would agree. Occasionally we get to do 'girlfriend' shopping - we meet at one of the stores we shop at and have a coffee and a chat. That takes some of the exhaustion out of it.

Maybe we need to wear an iPod with happy tunes while we shop?

Mmmmm...I miss fall walks where the leaves are changing and the air is so crisp. It's actually cooling off a little here in Ft Lauderdale. Down to 78 degrees this morning so my walk with the dogs wasn't quite as sweaty as normal:-) I too would not like to have to go to four different stores for food. I guess I'm lucky that I have a Publix around the corner from me as well as a Super Target and Super Wal-Mart. So, I can basically pick and choose which store I want to go to. Wishing you much success this weekend. I'll be thinking about you going on those walks:-)

I hate grocery shopping too. I always buy too much and I am one of those people that loves to try new stuff.

Fall hiking is so nice, none of the spring overgrown thorns everywhere.

I'm glad you were able to squeeze in a hike amidst allthe busyness. Just be careful you don't fall on all those nuts. Here's to an AMAZING day!

I really agree! I would love to shop at Dierburg's but I would probably blow the grocery budget! I find some good buys at Aldi's.

Your hike sounds lovely! Be careful.

Hiya, I'm trying to catch up.
Sounds like your back is better. My chiropractor friend says you can get back pain if you don't feel supported. I don't know if I go for that, but I know that dealing with hospitals can pull the rug out from anyone. Hope your Dad's feeling better.

We all go to multiple stores. Always have , always will. So don't blame your diet unless you think that without the diet you could have just stopped at Pizza Hut for groceries.

Oh and btw, this is not a diet. It's a lifestyle. emoticon

You be careful out there walking on the nuts! Do you use a walking stick? I have always wanted to purchase one. I did my shopping today for groceries also. Fortunately, I have a Raley's Superstore that I can shop at. It has everything that I need. One stop shopping with one huge bill!! LOL
