Rainy Days Don't Always Get Me Down But............

Tuesday, October 06, 2009

It started pouring rain here immediately after it got daylight so I was unable to get my outdoor chores done early this morning. It put me behind schedule and I have been unable to catch up all day. I got a decent breakfast and lunch fixed, the pet cages straightened up, the dishwasher unloaded, and the trash burned at least. I still have some odds and ends to do, like a load of laundry, take out the recyclables and compost, feed the outdoor animals, etc. I may or may not do them. LOL.

To be truthful, I don't feel real well. Blah, in fact. It's probably from the pneumonia and flu shot. So I made some homemade beef barley vegetable soup and I'm looking forward to eating that and an apple for supper. I have snacks planned for later.

I'm not going to exercise as much today as I usually do either. Old Arthur is rearing it's ugly head. My knee is clicking. My hips are sore. My arms hurts from the injection. My left pinky toe hurts - seriously- no laughing!!!! LOL. I'm a bed potato - too tired for the couch.

I hung a lace wreath on my bedroom door. My husband will have a stroke as he hates girly dohickies. Too bad. I'm not in the mood for challenges. LOL. When I'm sick my temperament is kind of like the Tasmanian devil. LOL. In fact I have a picture of one I used to use as a desktop. LOL.

I'm going to work on some clutter in my bedroom. And clean out my purse, balance my check book, and get some bills ready to mail. Watch some TV. All in the comfort of my bedroom. Maybe I'll do some reading and hope I feel better tomorrow.

I know how it goes with having a sore arm after a flu shot. Hubby & I got ours yesterday. I couldn't even feel the needle but my muscle did about 15 minutes after the shot and was still sore for several hours. Here's hoping that you will be feeling much better soon!!!! Yes, hot soup and a warm bed sounds great to me or at least the couch!!! emoticon

I got sick a few days after getting my flu shot. Good news is that the arm soreness went away after the first 24 hours. Bad news is that I was sick for four days. Hope you are feeling better:-) You do a lot when you are sick. I just laze around and watch stuff that has accumulated on my DVR and eat Chicken Noodle Soup, LOL. I think the only thing that I have to do no matter how sick I am is take care of my animals. Dogs have to be walked and all have to be fed and given water. Otherwise, I'm definitely a couch / bed potato.

If you're not feeling better yet, I send you good wishes for a fast recovery!

I hope you feel better soon. It's no fun being sick. Maybe in the morning things will be looking up for you. All the things you've done or need to get done are making me tired, but the soup sounds yummy. It's bound to help.
I would love it to rain here, not just a little but a good rain. I live in sunny California, land of the high taxes, and we hardly ever see rain. Mostly just enough to make drops in the dust on your car. I am sending you many well wishes for health and energy. God bless you and your family... emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Hope the blah's don't stick around long - it's just no fun!!

My temperament in general lately is rather Tasmanian Devil-like :) Nothin' wrong with that, right?

Hope you have a relaxing, less-clutterful evening!

I really need to empty my purse, too, but I think I'll vacuum the basement, instead. We have nasty winds blowing and snow is on its way. Maybe I should put a pot of soup on while I'm at it.

The soup sounds great. I love beef barley and Scotch broth soup.
I have a lot of heirloom linen that I don't know what to do with. Quilt tops, lace, hand embroidered dresser sets. I don't want to get rid of it until I ask everyone in the family if they want this or that. In the meantime, I need to store it properly. I bought some Sterilite see -through containers at Big Lots today to put in the linen closet. I hope to organize it enough to know where everything is so I can use a little of it now and then and rotate the decor.I put an old crocheted lace piece under a copper jardiniere n the hall.
    Love the bed-potato bit.
Keep de-hoarding, but let me know if you find my pedal-pushers.
I should be ashamed, but I'm glad I quit the hopitasl before I was required to have a flu shot.

It sounds like you're having the weather they are predicting for us tomorrow. Cool, rainy all day... a good day to make soup and stay inside.

I didn't laugh about your baby toe, but I sure got a chuckle out of the lace wreath. My husband would have a major melt down! I'm supposed to be perfectly happy with a model of a '69 Z28 Camero on the mantle, but if I put one feminine thing out anywhere, he comes un-glued. You stick to your guns and don't take it down!

I bet you're having a reaction to the flu and pneumonia vaccines. It happens. Take care and when you're up to it, I'd sure like the recipe for that soup!

Poor Baby.. I hope you feel better tomorrow- I get the shots in 2 weeks.
Its ok to let yourself feel bad and stay in bed. A friend taught me that, get some rest. The soup sounds wonderful

Poor Tish!! Could be the shots - could also be the sudden change in weather making your joints ache. Pressure changes like that almost always give me a sinus headache. Take care of you today!

I'm sorry you're not feeling well... that homemade soup sounds yummy...and it should help you feel better (I hope). And I'm not laughing about your little toe...it sounds like everything hurts right now. You're doing the right thing, just taking it easy.

Oh, dear friend, I'm sorry you are not feeling well. I hope it wasn't the shots (I'm getting mine next week)! Take it easy and don't try and do too much. Rainy days are good days for hibernation...reading and tv and lolling around! Feel better, my dear! emoticon emoticon
