First, I want to thank you all for your support. It really means a lot to have others behind me.

Today Aydan and Maddie started with the new daycare, they were originally supposed to start on Mon, but the daycare provider graciously agreed to start today. They were a little scared at first, which I told them was fine, everyone gets scared, but, they would meet new friends and have a great time with them and the teacher.

As soon as we got there, they did great. They went in and were talking to Nesie(daycare provider) and then played with the other kids. I think this is the best decision dh and I could have made. Also, Nesie told us that after some time, if she feels she cannot help him, she will help us find someone who can. She is the type of person you can tell loves children and wants the best for them. My mind is so totally at ease today.

Thank you all for your support! I will keep you all posted on how it's going!

I'm glad things went well. I'm glad the kids are with someone that actually cares about them and at least she is willing ot admit that she might not be able to help him, but she isn't judging him.

As an old pro at dealing with moving my son from one daycare to another, make sure you're upfront and totally communicative with the director. You may want to consider getting certain things in writing, like that she understands Ayden has special needs, and what her process will be for dealing with those needs.

Also, document any conflict you may have over him in meticulous detail. If he does have problems, they may very well come back and try to say that you didn't inform them, or that you were violating rules.

Don't trust her because she seems nice in conversation. Get yourself and your children protected in writing.

Oh my, I just read the previous blog post about the old daycare, I am s0 sorry to hear about how badly you were treated. I have worked in day cares, and most recently worked as a TSS (therapeutic support staff) for children with autism, and some with ADHD, and I can't imagine a day care provider 1) talking that way to a parent 2) being so rude and not trying her best to help a child 3) behaved that way in front of children.
I really hope this new center works out for you guys! emoticon Oh and good job keeping your cool with her, that couldn't have been easy!
