Vacation and Hallowedding

Tuesday, November 03, 2009

I spent the last week at the beach, having a lovely time lazing around. It was a book-a-day vacation, a measurement that means I had a great time with no responsibilities. We did take some nice long walks on the beach, but I did not monitor my eating as well as I should have. I was up about 4 pounds on this weigh in. That's the not-so-fun part.

We ended the vacation with a family wedding on Halloween. Here's a picture of the wedding party:

And one of the wedding vows. The officiate is my FIL, the bride my husband's niece:

And another of my DH and me, in costume:

No, we didn't go for a couple theme. I had this awesome dress from a past Halloween and he wouldn't go for the period/vampire look at all. I ended up not wearing the fangs, since there would be food at the reception and I didn't want to mess with them.

I hope everyone had as happy a Halloween as we did.

This is the wedding you got the spooky bottle of wine for. How did they like it?

I had to forfeit my bottle or pay an extra $15 to check my luggage, so I donated it to the woman at the check-in counter, with my best wishes. I had forgotten about not being able to carry liquids on board.

What fun. You look wonderful, so elegant and serene next to your dignified farmer. I'm thinking fangs would have detracted from the Mona Lisa smile.

Not a lot different--it's usually a baseball cap, though. And he only pulls out the overalls to work around the cabin.
