Rat Race

Wednesday, November 11, 2009

I have had a really busy week and today was no exception. I got up early this morning and made breakfast, got my morning chores done, plus hung up a load of laundry, and unloaded the dishwasher. When my son got up we drove to the metroeast St. Louis area to do some much needed shopping.

We wanted to enjoy ourselves so I didn't even try to stay on my diet today. I was nauseated this morning for some reason anyway and decided to eat whatever I wanted. That ended up being Captain D's. I love fish and shrimp. It was delicious and I loved it. Worth all the fat, carbs, and calories. We usually end up eating ice cream when we go over there but we didn't today so I was happy about that.

I did eat on plan for breakfast, dinner, and snacks though. And I got some exercise in.

Usually we go to a lot of my favorite stores when we go to the Metroeast area as they have the best shopping in Southern Illinois - Kohls, Hobby Lobby, Michaels, Bed Bath and Beyond, Gordman's, Garden Ridge, Target, Dierbergs, Macy's, Dillards, Pottery Barn, World Market, Banana Republic, Best Buy, Pier 1, etc. And there are a lot of places my son likes like such as Old Navy, Abercrombie, Aeropostale, American Eagle, Spencers, Gap, Mister Bulky's, Pass Pets, etc. But we didn't go to any of them. We went to Borders and Barnes and Noble which is always exciting for me as we have nothing like that around here. I am not into bringing anything else in this house right now so we didn't buy anything but we did enjoy the "look-see". We went to Sears and bought some trash compactor bags, to Petsmart to get pet food, and to Sam's to buy staples. I didn't buy one item that was not a necessity on my list and I was very proud of that as I am serious about cutting back on spending and clutter.

We came home and put it all away and fixed supper.

Tomorrow I have to do my usual errands in town. No rest for the wicked and the righteous don't need any. I'll let you decide what group you think I belong in. emoticon

I would love to shop with you! I live in the boonies and we don't have those stores, but we do have Sears catalogue sales. Thank you so much for your words of encouragement. I am getting my energy back and I am sure Kali is happy that she will get daily walks again.

I hope you are having a good week!

I miss Hobby Lobby and Garden Ridge! I loved those stores and they had great crafts:-) I also love the bookstores but I'm no longer buying books. Instead, I trade with friends and go to the library.

I still have de-cluttering but I'm leaving it until I go on vacation. I'm glad you indulged in a favorite food and Captain D's is also something that I miss also...LOL We don't have a lot of stores here in South Florida that I had in Indiana.

Hope you are having a great day:-)

    Hugs!

That sounds like such a wonder day!

You are very fortunate that your son like to do that too! Most men are on a mission when they go shopping! emoticon It sounds pretty much like all the stores we have here locally. I love going to Borders and just sitting looking, reading a book while having a cup of hot tea and maybe a bite to eat. Barnes & Noble have plenty of good books too, but I just like Borders cozy atmosphere much better. emoticon

Some days you need a break from the plan! I did. I had a Chik-Fil-A medium number one regular and it was good! But back on plan now.

And you are a busy bee!

That's great that you were able to just stick to what it was that you really needed.

I am still working on decluttering and took some other things to the Goodwill yesterday.

Heaven forbid that you would call yourself wicked!

And you most definitely need your rest! And the Lord Almighty rested on the 7th day, and if He needed it, then surely we need a day of rest too!

Nauseated? Are you pregnant? Sounds like you had a great day. Those fried foods sure taste good and we need them occasionally!

Are you wickedly righteous or righteously wicked?

I would love to have a shopping day like this! We have few stores here and so I have to wait for the 2 times per year that we go out of town, and then it is always hurried, but I love it! I don't even mind when I don't find anything to buy, I just love to experience it all.
