Lots of Loonies at the DMV

Thursday, November 12, 2009

Today I went to town and got my weekly errands done.

I had to go to the DMV and some elderly man and woman were going postal on the people that work there. The woman was in a wheelchair and grandpa was crabby and cursing. It was freaky. One of the employees threatened the old people and forced them to leave. I don't condone the behavior of the old people but to be honest the people who work at our DMV are not the kind of people I would want as employees. I've observed them and they seem to take some kind of perverse pleasure in pushing people's buttons. I try to go the the DMV in other counties when I can and the other ones are much better.

I went to the bank, paid some bills, got some groceries at 4 stores, and made it back home by noon for a change. I had time to make a nice supper.

Tomorrow I will be alone as my son is working and I intend to REST!!

Hmm...I wonder if there's some sort of Central Commando DMV Training Center, because ours are the same! I dread having to go there.... Always good to get that errand done and over with, isn't it?

Getting to the DMV always seems to be something to put off til the last minute lol It is never a good experience. I had to go twice in the past month, it was great.

I go to 4-5 stores too..
The DMV in MD was awful- you always had to plan on not having all your stuff, and waiting at least an hour.
Here in SC is great, they are quick.. have not had to go back once.. and they are nice and try to help you.

I had an unusually pleasant experience at the DMV compared to where we used to live. I had to get my license changed to an Arizona license and I was surprised at how smoothly and quickly it went... and how nice the people were. It's pretty bad when you're surprised at that.

we never know till we walk a mile in someone else's shoes but I know what you mean about the DMV or I'm sorry county workers in general where I live. And if you get more then one in a room they feed off each other.

Glad you got to fix a nice meal. Rest today - you are a busy bee all the time. Rest will do you good.

I hate to see people go postal on employees that are there to serve the public...but i have no respect for the employees that push buttons of lose their cool when confronted. Remaining calm and professional in the face of difficult people is a skill lacking in many of the service industry employees.

I had to go to the DMV a couple months ago. My biggest gripe are the lines-holy moley! You could grow roots waiting! :)

    Have a good day tomorrow!

Devil's Advocate: My Outlaws are the sorts of folks that think that driving is a right, not a privilege, and tend to get crabby at Drs. & DMV folks that think they should not be on the road.

Just saying, it may not ALL be the DMV folks that are being pushy.
(And don't get me started on folks w/o licenses and what they do...)

You survived the errands and you are stronger!!
