Split Pea Soup revisited and also a little Banana Bread!

Hi my dear Spark Friends,
Yesterday, I worked on my split pea soup recipe and incorporated many of your suggestions for giving it a bit more flavor and zip. I'm happy with the outcome and I have gone ahead and added it to the database. I added a bit more chicken broth, some celery, cut down on the potato and added some red pepper flakes. I was at a friends house the other day and she served me a WONDERFUL piece of banana bread. I just had a small slice but she showed me the recipe which came from Cooking Light. I was able to find it on the Cooking Light web site so I'm going to post the link. Let me tell you, it is yummy and it has a "secret" ingredient... dark rum! I thought that was pretty adventurous. I'm giving serious consideration to doing smaller loaves which would make a nice gift for the neighbors, mailman, etc with their Christmas card. Check it out.
Okay... I'm off to take a shower. I just finished a spinning class with the "she devil" and she added ab exercises for a bit of variety! I'm feelin the burn baby.
